Steven O’Connell, age 49, of Holbrook, was last seen on Monday, July 10 before police found his body in an abandoned building near his house on Thursday, July 13, according to the Holbrook Police Department.

A woman who said she was the man's daughter said that he took his own life.

"Unfortunately he took his own life, the police found him earlier this afternoon," wrote Ashley O'Connell, who said she was Steven's daughter.

Police say there is currently no suspicion of foul play.

“I join Chief Smith and the public safety officials who conducted this search in expressing my condolences to Mr. O’Donnell’s family and those he left behind,” Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said. “And our thanks to those who joined in the search.”

The Holbrook Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Airwing, and the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council participated in the search for O’Connell.

State Police Homicide detectives also responded to the scene of the body's discovery.
